Hazel’s Hundredth

Doug Ford has a pattern of imploring Ontarians to do one thing (stay home! don’t mix households!), while he does the opposite. Latest example? Travelling to another city to visit Hazel McCallion on her 100th birthday, despite the stay-at-home order. This erodes public trust.

Countless residents have sacrificed milestones— graduation, weddings, religious holidays, anniversaries, baby showers, birthdays, and even funerals—for the greater common good. It’s both disheartening and infuriating to have a “leader” who flouts the rules for silly photo ops.

We have never been all in this together. Not even for a second.
