All in the Family

In case lines between state & media weren’t blurry enough, The Toronto Sun made a rare apology to Kyla Ford, the Premier’s daughter, for punny headline about #KKKookies.

You may recall the debacle last week when people pointed out the terrorist acronym in “KyKy’s Kookies.”

Considering how offensive the The Toronto Sun is on a regular basis, it’s ironic they chose to issue an apology for a headline they actually got right.

Sun-Ford connections run deep:

  • Sun columnist, Brian Lilley, and Ford press secretary, Ivana Yelich, are romantically involved

  • The potential conflict was never disclosed to Sun readers

  • Sun editor, Adrienne Batra, was Rob Ford’s press secretary
